I am a political scientist. This blog is about American politics. It also covers teaching, pens, and cooking. It has been online since August 2014.

Politics posts reflect a normative commitment to liberal democracy, theoretical commitment to representative democracy, and the perspective of an Americanist who studied comparative politics in school. I try to avoid partisanship in my work. Earlier posts may be more reformist than later ones.
